Pawel's experience with Palani

Pawel Lukasiak joint Palani as of the 1st of October 2007. He started as a Software Developer and his first project is for 12 months at Newtel Essence. Below you can read Pawel’s first experiences with Palani.

My adventure with Palani Consulting began when I decided to move to Netherlands half of 2007. Via a web-add I came in contact with Palani. From the very beginning the communication was great, open and friendly. Palani informed about the opportunity and about life in the Netherlands. I received all the information I asked for. Everything about the contract and work was clearly explained. They didn’t hide anything behind curtains.
When Palani invited me for an interview in Netherlands I already had another interview scheduled for Monday but Palani organized their interview for Tuesday to make their interview possible as well. Of course Palani organized everything during this trip for 100%. Transportation, hotel, food, Palani really showed that they care about their candidates. This was what I noticed from the beginning. They are very friendly, very helpful and do everything what they can for candidates and employees. When I first met Guido and Michel it was amazing. It looked like we already knew each other for very long time. We were talking like old friends about business but also about personal things. They really showed interest in me as a person.
They prepared me very good for the interview at Newtel Essence. Palani informed me about everything they knew concerning the company and opportunity. I felt very assured when I finally had my interviews with Newtel Essence. Because of the professional preparation I was able to present myself in a very good matter.
When Newtel decided to hire me Palani immediately started to prepare my move to Netherlands. They found me an apartment. Of course they didn’t just find something and said to me that this is the place where we should live. Palani found several apartments and send me all information and photos about these apartments. In this way my wife and I were able to select the apartment we felt was the best for us. As the apartment was completely empty we thought we had to arrange furniture. But again Palani showed that it will do what ever is needed for their employees and bought all furniture, all necessary staff and a lot of other things to make our life there as easy as possible.
When we moved my wife was pregnant. She would deliver our first baby in The Netherlands. Palani also showed interest and care about her. They arranged health insurance for me and my wife. I don’t have to do a thing concerning all the housing and insurance issues. Palani made it possible for us to just focus on adjusting to our new environment and for me to focus on my new job..
After four months in The Netherlands I can say that the whole personal care of Palani during the moving perdiod was not only to bring me here but that this is a way of attitude within Palani. If there is some kind of problem or any situation which needs their attention, they are very willing to help. A few times I needed help and they started to act as soon as I explained them my needs.
Recently Palani hired Marcin Bednarek. He’s really hired to make our life much easier. Marcin speaks Dutch and Polish and works at Palani as their back-office employee, taking care of any organisational and personal issues that we request assistance for. Since his appointment he has already helped me with a view questions..
I am very happy ande satisfied about my current project at Newtel Essence. I work in big company, which works with new technologies and interesting customers. I was also able to follow new product trainings giving me access to new knowledge and new opportunities. My Dutch colleagues are very helpful. They are frequently asking me if everything is ok or if I need something.
Based on my initial experience I plan to stay in Netherlands much longer then one year.
Somebody could think that the above sounds too good, that there are no problems and that my opinion is fabricated, but this is not the case. It’s really just the truth. So far I didn’t experience any trouble and problems with Palani. When I decided to accept the job at Palani and being placed at Newtel Essence I also had second proposition in another Dutch company. I hesitated a long time but now I know that Palani has been the best choice and I would select Palani once more if I had to.

Marcin's experience with Palani

At the end of 2007 I decided to seek for new professional challenges and started looking for jobs abroad. Putting my CV online gave me a huge range of possibilities. I started to go for interviews of which most of them were located in London. After one week in London I already knew that this city wasn’t for me. When I decided to not accept any job in the UK I was about to abandon my idea of changing my country but then I got the invitation for an interview in Netherlands. This first invitation didn’t come from Palani, but I thought that if I’m going to Netherlands, then let’s see what other possibilities were available. That’s how I found Palani (as everything, you can google it). The first interview with the other company didn’t go so well… sure, they wanted to hire me, but the salary they proposed was the same I got in Poland, so the only thing I could do…. was to start laughing. Then I met Guido from Palani, and that meeting was a little different than the other interviews – we just had a coffee in Amsterdam talking about plans for the future. It was quite pleasant. I went back to Poland and after couple of weeks Guido called me that he got a potential position for me. After that I had a couple of telephone conferences with the potential company, but after them it came out that I wasn’t exactly the person they were looking for and also the position they offered didn’t really suit my .NET developer specialization. A few weeks later Palani found me another company which was interested in my IT-skills. Again, equipped with my head set I had two telephone conferences about the position and they went pretty well. After that I was invited to The Netherlands, just to talk in person and see the company. This time their was a mutual fit and I signed one year contract. A month later I started my new job and new life. Moving to The Netherlands went quite smooth. I didn’t had to look for a flat, cause everything was already arranged (house, car, and all other paper stuff). I like my new position at Evologics, I like my colleagues and I’m already used to the new environment. Also due to the Dutch lessons that I’m following twice a week at the office of Palani, I’m also already able to understand and speak the first Dutch sentences.

Right now three months passed since I moved here and I think it was really good decision.

Daniel's experience with Palani

My name is Daniel and since May of 2008 I work for Palani Consulting.

After some time thinking I decided that it was a time for some changes in my life. I had been looking for a challenging job and a great experience in foreign country. The decision seemed to be hard and I could not decide until Palani contacted me. I had been skeptic, but after my first talk with Guido I got enthusiastic. Palani took a great care not only about finding me a very challenging project at one of the greatest IT companies in the world (Oracle) but also about all the personal issues that have to be arranged when moving to another country. Palani arranged everything in co-operation with me. Their communication is great. In cooperation with Marcin I could chose my new apartment and Palani took care about the rental contract and furnishing as well. Palani assisted me with getting a bank account and with the first initial tax issues. When moving to another country and not speaking the local language these things can be very challenging. However due to the support of Palani these things went very smooth and actually became non issues. All I had to do was focus on my new job and adapting to my new professional and private environment. I’m currently working on several challenging BI projects through Oracle Netherlands. These projects are at large companies like Reed Elsevier and KPN. Besides my new private experience in The Netherlands I’m also developing myself from a business point of view at these world class companies.

I’m very thankful for all the assistance Palani gave me in getting my new life started in the Netherlands. But also for the great new business environment they gave me to exploit myself.

Palani claims to do this during the initial job interviews but with Palani it doesn’t seem to be only words.

What makes Palani special and different from all other companies??? - They really care!!

Jaroslaw's experience with Palani

My name is Jaroslaw Franczyk and I joined the Palani team on 1st October 2007. As a new team member I required some help at the very beginning. From the moment I signed at Palani, they provided me with a lot of professional support. When I moved to the Netherlands they organized a lot of things such as: cross-border transportation, accommodation, health insurance, apartment, furniture and a lot of other trivial issues. Because of this support my new life in the Netherlands started smooth and pleasant. Taking care of these issues gave me a lot of confidence and made it possible for me to completely focus on my new position and projects. I’m working at leading Dutch IT- companies with new technologies and tools that I received the required training for as well. Even during the projects Palani keeps close and frequent contact to make sure everything goes well. The way of working and communication with Palani is friendly, flexible and helpful. Joining Palani was very good decision.

Palani is team of professional people.
